Almaguin Highlands Secondary School is shining a light on helping students with learning disabilities. Next Monday, September 22 from 6:00-8:00pm an information evening will be offered for parents and students called Speak Up: Let’s Talk about Being Successful in High School when you have a Learning Disability. Mrs. Elaine Beckett-Albert from the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario will offer information about what it’s like to have a learning disability in a high school classroom and Almaguin Highlands students will share their experiences. Dinner will be provided and parents are invited to bring a copy of their child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) for this presentation.
