Candidates for the municipal election in the Town of Parry Sound expressed their views to residents last night. An All Candidates debate was held last night at the Stockey Centre in front of a crown of about 100 people with Jamie McGarvey being the lone candidate running for Mayor while Paul Borneman, Dennis Brownley, John Cochrane, Brian Fisher, Brad Horne, Bonnie Keith, Jim Marshall, Doug McCann, Phil Vincent, and Keith Saulnier all running for six councillor positions. All candidates gave opening statements and answered questions from the floor on poverty, rail safety, regional cooperation, and the future of Parry Sound. The entire debate will air on TV Cogeco tonight for anyone who missed it. Nominations for Mayor or councillor are still being accepted today until 2:00pm and Election Day is October 27th.
