Rachel Auld is just 14-years-old and she is already gaining experience in what it takes to make a business work.

Rachel, with the help of her mother Lori, has created the “Live. Love. Lake.” subscription boxes after her experience of moving to cottage country from Niagara Falls and wanting to bring the slow-paced cottage experience to everyone.

“I love having a business and meeting people through it. Getting connected with locals and bringing the experience of Parry Sound Muskoka to everyone is something I really enjoy,” the young entrepreneur said.

Her first business was a snack-shack then moved on to selling firewood before starting her subscription box business.

“There’s so many artists, business and talent in the area, and there’s so much that we have here that no one knows about, and I thought, why can’t we do it?” Rachel said.

In a Live.Love.Lake. box, you can expect items that are 100 per cent Canadian made and locally sourced. Everything in a box is from their six signature categories which are beauty, accessories, clothing, home, culinary and nature-themed items.

Rachel thinks other young entrepreneurs should “go for it” to who are thinking of starting their own business. She also attributes her success and motivation to the connections she’s made in the community.

“If I have a question, I have people I can go to when I have questions, I don’t have to figure it out on my own all the time,” she said.

Rachel was just 13 when she had the drive to start her own business. Those interested in learning more about Live.Love.Lake can visit their website here.
