St. Amant case delayed by pathology report

Mark St. Amant was in court this morning awaiting pre-trial for second-degree murder.

A delay in retrieving the victim’s pathology report led to an argument between the Crown and the defence. The Crown asked the court if the defense could retrieve the report. That led to an argument by the Crown, Wes Beattie and the defence, Riali Johannesson.   Johannesson eventually agreed to obtain the documents.

It was said in court that the pathology report is coming from a doctor in Sudbury.

St. Amant’s judicial pre-trial is scheduled for February 12th.  He will appear in court again on June 6th.

The 39-year-old is charged with second-degree murder and one count of indignity to a dead body in the death of Amanda McClaskin.
