The West Parry Sound OPP has charged its third impaired driver of the year.

On January 9th shortly after 3:00pm,  officers responded to a report of an intoxicated driver on Highway 400 in McDougall Township.

Police found the car and determined that the driver had been drinking. A 36-year-old woman from Seguin Township was arrested and charged with impaired operation by alcohol and drugs and being a novice driver with B.A.C. above zero.

The driver is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on February 21st. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and the car she was driving was impounded for seven days.

The OPP reminds drivers that there is no safe amount of drug or alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police immediately.
