Heavy snowfall is going to do good for snowmobile trails

With snow in the forecast, a snowmobile association is reminding riders the powder is a good thing.

The new year is expected to see double digits worth of snowfall in the area, and although travel conditions will be affected, one snowmobile association says this is good for the trails in the area.

According to an interview done by CBC News, Adrian Tressier the President of the Northwestern Snowmobile Trails Association says the snow is needed so that grooming machines can start working on trails.

Although the snow is good, Tressier told CBC, that wet snow can make grooming trails harder, especially if trees fall over onto the trails.

Environment Canada has forecasted the area to get 10-2-0 centimetres of snow between tonight and tomorrow morning.
