Four people face impaired driving charges during Almaguin Festive RIDE checks

Almaguin Highlands OPP is making sure your holiday travels are safe and drunk driver-free.

Last weekend, OPP officers charged four people suspected of impaired driving. Three of the drivers charged were local and one was from Hamilton. The 55-year-old Hamilton man was taken into custody and appeared for a bail hearing in Parry Sound this week. The other three were released from custody and will answer to their charges in Parry Sound next year on January 10th.

One of the accused, 54-year-old woman from Ryerson Township, refused to provide a breathe sample, which can lead to the similar penalties as impaired charges.

The Festive RIDE check stops will be running day and night around Almaguin and Parry Sound until the start of the New Year.
