It’s the final week of the cottage season for many and the Electrical Safety Authority has some tips for closing up the cottage. ESA General Manager of the Northern Region Paul Shamess says everyone should visually inspect any extension cords and store them in weather and rodent proof bins and when it comes to shutting down the power completely, there is a certain way to do it safely.
For those who may be leaving some power on, Shamess has these suggestions.
He also says it’s good to take a walk around the cottage to look for any limbs that may be a problem over the winter.
