International executives tour Parry Sound looking for business opportunities

The Parry Sound area is attracting international attention.

Eight executives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia toured the Town of Parry Sound and surrounding area yesterday.

The purpose of the visit was to educate international business leaders and investors about the opportunities and incentives that are available for new businesses in the area.

The Town of Parry Sound in partnership with the West Parry Sound Economic Development Collaborative organized a full day program including plant tours and meetings with local businesses.

The visit kicked-off at the town hall and continued with meetings with the Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce and local architects, as well as tours of an off-the-grid home in Seguin, local manufacturing companies, the Parry Sound Area Industrial Park and Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport Business Park.

“The tour went extremely well. It was their first time in the district and they were impressed with what they saw and heard about doing business in the area. By the end of the tour, several delegates expressed strong interest to invest in existing projects in and around town. One visitor discussed building housing in and around Parry Sound as well as other projects involving manufacturing and food processing,” said Vladimir Shehovstov, Economic Development Officer for the Town of Parry Sound.

“I was impressed with how really open and hospitable all the private businesses and organizations that we visited were. It was nice to get the support from the local business community,” he added.
