Aubree’s Memorial Christmas aims to give the hospital a facelift

Aubree Butler passed away June 4th. from a rare form of Sarcoma.

Aubree Butler had a big heart.

Her friends and family describe her as someone who loved to give to others.

Aubree, who was from Parry Sound, succumbed to a rare form of cancer on June 4th. She was seven-years-old.

“Her smile would light up a room. If we went shopping, she always wanted to buy things for other people, “ said mom, Casie Shelley.

“If you were sad, she would draw you a picture, or if one of her siblings was sad or crying, she would give them a toy. She was such a caring little girl,” said Jayme Rand, a friend of Aubree’s mother.

This will be the family’s first  Christmas without their daughter.

Along with community support, Aubree’s mother has created a fundraiser called  “Aubree’s Memorial Christmas” in memory of her daughter.

“We’re hoping to give the Kids Zone at the West Parry Sound Health Center a facelift, “ she said.

With the money raised, Shelley hopes to purchase some iPads for older sick kids, a play kitchen, a toy tool bench and toys that can be sanitized. This initiative is aimed at keeping kids happy and entertained while waiting for medical attention.

Shelley wants to alleviate the fear and boredom that some kids may face with regular trips to the hospital.

If you’d like to donate to Aubree’s Memorial Christmas you can do so at Mystic Loon Trading Company, The Georgian Lanes Bowling Alley, or Dainty Delights Sewing and Alterations.

You can also send email money transfers to [email protected] or call (705)346-2399. You can visit the fundraiser’s Facebook page here.
