Roads and Weather Friday November 09th (Early morning)

Roads throughout our region are clear and bare this morning.

However with the forecast calling for snow and the possibility of snow squalls and blowing snow this weekend motorists are advised to pay attention to changing weather.

Special Weather statement issued at 6:22 a.m.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Bracebridge – Gravenhurst
  • Huntsville – Baysville
  • Port Carling – Port Severn
  • Town of Parry Sound – Rosseau – Killbear Park

Band of heavy snow likely Saturday morning.

A band of heavy snow is expected to develop over Northern Lake Huron and Georgian Bay and move south across the area Saturday morning. Areas under the most intense portion of the band could receive snowfall amounts near 10 cm.

There is still some uncertainty regarding which locations may be impacted. Those that are impacted could experience brief but intense snowfall affecting road conditions and visibilities.

In addition, strong wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h are expected to develop early Saturday morning and weaken Saturday afternoon.

Today: Cloudy. Snow beginning this morning. Snow mixed with rain late this afternoon. Snowfall amount 5 cm. Wind (E) 20 this morning. High +1.

Tonight Snow. Snow mixed with rain early this evening. Risk of snow squalls overnight. Local blowing snow overnight. Local snowfall amount 5 to 10 cm. Wind (W) 
30 gusting to 60 near midnight. Low -2. Wind chill -9 overnight.

Sat. Flurries ending early in the afternoon then clearing. Risk of snow squalls early in the morning. Local blowing snow. Local amount 5 cm. Wind (NW) 30 gusting
to 50. High -2. Wind chill -8 in the morning,-13 in the afternoon.

Sun. A mix of sun and cloud with a few flurries. High -2.
