Change.org petition calls for Tony Clement to step down as MP

Organizers with Women’s March Muskoka are calling for Tony Clement to step down as MP.

The petition on Change.org says in light of the recent allegations and admissions of misconduct, Clement needs to remove himself as the representative of the Parry Sound-Muskoka riding.

This comes after the MP resigned from the Conservative party under pressure from leader Andrew Scheer. On Tuesday night, Clement admitted he had sent sexually explicit photos and videos to what he thought was a consenting woman. The recipient then tried to extort him, reportedly threatening to release the content unless he paid 50,000 euros. On Wednesday afternoon, Scheer said he had learned about new allegations involving Clement sending similar photos to various women.

The Women’s March Muskoka organizers say if Clement is unable to serve his duties on parliamentary committees than he shouldn’t be serving residents in Parry Sound and Muskoka either.  You can find a link to the petition here.
