The Community Response Unit Needs Help from Locals

The Salvation Army needs generous donations to keep their Community Response Unit functioning.

The Parry Sound Salvation Army Community Response Unit needs community support.

If you have ever noticed their truck around town on Friday nights, you may realise what an impact they have on our community.

The Community Response Unit serves a hot meal with snacks and hot/cold drinks on nights from 6pm to 10pm for those in need and their services become increasingly important as the colder months approach. For some, it’s the only meal they get.

The response unit also works closely with First Responders in disaster and emergency situations and work closely with our local fire department.

Their vehicle is approaching its end of life after 17 years and will require a replacement very soon. The Salvation Army is calling upon local business and residents that are able to support this initiative through a donation to their fundraising campaign. The cost of a new Emergency Response Unit will run approximately $130,000.

For those who make a donation of over $10,000, there is an opportunity to have a logo featured on the Community Response Unit vehicle.
