A Parry Sound man’s death is being investigated by the SIU.
The Special Investigations Unit says OPP officers entered the man’s River Street home on August 29th in connection with an investigation of a theft from a Church Street financial institution. Shortly after, the 22-year-old went into what the SIU is calling “medical distress.”
EMS arrived and gave him first aid. He was then taken to the hospital and put on life support. He was taken off life support this past Friday and passed away that afternoon with a post-mortem done this morning.
The SIU says the two investigators, one forensic have been assigned to the case. If you have any information about this case you’re asked to call the SIU at 1-800-787-8529. You can also submit video evidence through the SIU’s website.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
