Lots of rain on the way

Get ready for some rainy weather.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Parry Sound-Muskoka area. That includes Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Baysville, Port Carling, Port Severn, the Town of Parry Sound, Rosseau, and Killbear Park. The agency says people can expect heavy showers tonight that will taper into scattered showers tomorrow. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop as well.

Between 20 and 40mm of rain is expected to fall by tomorrow afternoon, but some areas could possibly see 60mm or more. Environment Canada says heavy downpours can lead to flash floods and pooling water on the roads, so be ready for that. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks as well.

The My Parry Sound Now Newsroom is keeping an eye on this weather and will you keep you updated.
