Total fire ban remains in place

Heading into the long weekend you’re reminded that Parry Sound, and the entire district, are under a complete fire ban.

The district is in a restricted fire zone with an extreme fire danger rating. That means no burning of any kind is allowed at any time. That includes campfires, even for warmth or cooking, and fireworks.

Most local fire departments have a zero tolerance policy. If you’re caught setting off any kind of flame you could even be billed, at the current Ministry of Transportation rate, for the fire trucks that respond.

If you’re unsure at all about the fire restrictions in your area give your local fire department a call.
