Work halted on Henvey Inlet Wind Project

Pattern Energy has confirmed that the wind project site on Henvey Inlet Reserve No.2 is shut down and work has ceased on the transmission line north of Britt. Matt Dallas, a spokesperson for Pattern Energy says in an email that transmission line work will resume when the area is deemed safe and the MNRF gives the go-ahead.  This decision follows the Georgian Bay Association’s letter to Premier Doug Ford and the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, Jeff Yurek. The Association says it is worried the construction of the hydro line as part of the Henvey Inlet Wind Project might cause further fires. The fire has destroyed homes and forced communities to evacuate.
