School board votes in favour of ARC recommendation again

Parents and students have won again as the Near North District School Board has accepted another ARC recommendation.  The board voted in favour of the ARC’s recommendation for the Burk’s Falls family of schools at their Tuesday meeting and Information Officer Carrie Girard explains.

French immersion students from grades five to eight would continue to attend the new Land of Lakes Public School.  The decision reverses the board initial decision to close Magnetawan Central School and send local grade seven and eight students to Alamaguin Highlands Secondary School.  It’s the second time in 12 months that the board has accepted a recommendation from an ARC after the board accepted the ARC’s recommendation for the Parry Sound family of schools last year.
