Hockey legends Walter Gretzky and Bobby Orr were at The Stockey Centre on Saturday for The Celebrating Youth Awards. Orr hosted the event which included Gretzky’s induction into the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame. Orr says we can all learn something from Gretzky.
Gretzky says he can hardly believe he’s being inducted.
Orr says it’s great to be home for The Celebrating Youth Awards, to hear the good things kids are doing in Parry Sound.
A group of Parry Sound High School students who wrote the book, “Building our Bridge: Our Journey of Reconciliation” were among the award recipients. Co-writer, Taylor Judge, says it was a huge honour.
The Celebrating Youth Awards recognized youth between the ages of 10 and 18 for achievements in athletics, academics and volunteerism.
