Parry Sound’s new economic development officer says he has a dream position. Shehovtsov says he has visited Parry Sound on several occasions as a tourist and was smitten with its quiet charm, friendly residents and pristine environment. He has more than 15 years of business development experience. He comes from Ukraine having worked in automotive sales, he then relocated to The United States where he was international sales and marketing manager for Marley Engineered Products before coming to Canada. In Cambridge, he has worked for Dimplex, the world’s biggest electric fireplace manufacturer. He has also worked for trade and business development organizations in exports for equipment manufacturers and farm operators.  He was most recently, a business development officer in North Bay. Shehovtsov says, he feels he can immediately and effectively contribute to developing and diversifying the economy of Parry Sound. Shehovtsov will start work in Parry Sound on July 3rd.
