MPAC wants to make sure people are on the voter’s list

Now that the provincial election is over, voters can focus on the upcoming municipal election.  The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation spoke to Parry Sound Council Tuesday night to urge residents to make sure they are on the voters list for the October 27th municipal election.  Terrilyne Bannon from MPAC explained to council that MPAC is responsible for providing a preliminary list of voters for municipal and school board elections to each municipality’s clerk ahead of the election.  This year, MPAC has set up a website to help ensure everyone is on the preliminary list to make voting easier.  To check and see if you are registered to vote or to change any information about your profile, visit www.voterlookup.ca.  At any time leading up to the election, residents can contact their municipal clerk and ensure their on the voter’s list.
