The town’s new aerial platform fire truck has arrived. Last night, dozens of people showed up for the arrival of the new Parry Sound Fire Department’s telesquirt truck. Mayor Jamie McGarvey was on hand for the arrival and says the town has been saving for years for this fully equipped vehicle.

The new truck was purchased for $1.1(M) million. He says the new truck is very good for the residents of Parry Sound and the surrounding areas.

He hopes that it won’t need to be used, but it give the town and it’s residents the assurance that if there is a case where it’s needed at taller buildings, the fire department has the proper equipment.
