Veterans to once again be honoured on banners

A life-changing trip continues to inspire a community remembrance project in Parry Sound.  Starting May 14th, you can submit a soldier or veteran to be honoured on a banner around Parry Sound. Parry Sound High School teacher Richard Lund started the project. Lund says the inspiration for this project came from last year’s school trip to Vimy Ridge for the VIMY 100 celebration.

Lund says the whole community including the town of Parry Sound, the Downtown Business Association, the Royal Canadian Legion, museum, and students all stepped up to make this event possible.

The banners will be up around Parry Sound between Thanksgiving and November 15th.  Submission forms and instructions can be found on the town’s website.
