Students show off cooking skills in Iron Chef competition

Grade eight students from McDougall School can stand the heat in the kitchen.  Last week, the grade eight students had a skills development orientation where they receive instruction on basic safety, sanitation, and food handling.  Then yesterday afternoon, the younger students teamed up with high school culinary arts students for an Iron Chef competition to show a panel of judges how well they can cook and the teams were judged on taste, creativity, culinary skill, presentation, and cleanliness & sanitation.  The two goals of the event are to make the younger students more familiar and safe in the kitchen and to allow the high school students to opportunity to show potential employers their skills.
