A workshop will be held in Parry Sound to understand the Blue Flag program. Waubuno Beach has been recognized as an eco-friendly beach and today the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve will host a workshop and flag raising. The workshop will explain how the Blue Flag program benefits tourism, supports health and environmental priorities, and celebrates a community’s commitment to safety and sustainability. The workshop for municipal beach operators, and other interested community groups will be held at the Museum on Tower Hill with a flag raising ceremony at Waubuno beach recognizing its Blue Flag status. The flag raising is scheduled to take place at 2:30pm at the beach, but if it rains, the ceremony will take place at the Museum on Tower Hill where the town will be presented with the flag.
