This summer, the High School sports field will be closed to school and public use to help maintain a strong and healthy surface. Staff at Parry Sound High School will close the field from July 1st until September 1st saying that periodic closure of the facility will ensure a long life. Maintenance will include aerating, fertilizing and over-seeding as well as patching the turf and dealing with depressions or minor washouts. Also, simply not having activity on the field for the summer will help it rejuvenate and maintain a strong turf root and surface structure.
