Sunday marks Earth Day and a number of local projects are planned.
Today (April 20th) the Town of Parry Sound is encouraging businesses to participate in the “20 Minute Makeover” by cleaning up around their business for 20 minutes.
Starting Sunday until the 29th the Town is marking “Pitch-In Week” asking residents to do their part in cleaning up.
Free gloves and garbage bags are available through the town at 705-746-2101 extension 225. Arrangements to have garbage bags picked up by the Town can also be made.
Gloves and bags will also be available from the Georgian Bay Biosphere office at 11 James starting Monday. Monday is
also the date for the GBBR’S fund-raising bake sale at the office with Desmasdon’s Boatworks in Pointe au Baril matching dollar for dollar.
POSTPONED: Shawanaga will hold a Community Clean-up on Sunday asking residents to help clear clutter and garbage from roadsides and community grounds and enjoy a BBQ to wrap up the day.
The clean-up runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and residents can contact the Healing Centre ( 705-366-2378) for more information.
McKellar will hold a clean-up starting at the Community Centre Sunday starting at 9:45 a.m. If you can help with a pick-up truck call 705-389-2842.
