Ice breaking operations on Georgian Bay will continue this weekend.
The Canadian Coast Guard says the operations will continue on Saturday along the shorelines to allow for more boating traffic to safely reach harbours in the bay. Any ice recreation users like fishers, snowmobilers or pedestrians are warned to stay away from the bay on Saturday. Officials say the operation can shift nearby ice and make it dangerous to walk or ride on.
The ice is expected to remain unstable after operations are completed as well.
