Local fire fighters getting railway incident training

The Town of Parry Sound is sending four fire fighters and the fire chief to learn more about railway incident management.  As part of their community outreach program after the Lac Magentic catastrophe the Canadian railways, CP and CN, have been offering opportunities for railway communities to send first responders to their joint training facility in Pueblo Colorado.  It’s a weeklong course with CP picking up the tab for travel, accomodations, and some meals.  Fire Chief Dave Thompson says there are four different weeks that the training is happening and not all five members will go at once in case there is an emergency where they are needed here at home.
