Smoked fish products sold from a Parry Sound deli have been recalled because of possible botulism. Orr’s Fine Meats and Deli in recalling all codes of smoked white fish in variable sizes and all codes of smoked lake trout in variable sizes. Anyone who has purchased any of the products are asked to not eat it and discard it in a closed container or return to Orr’s for a refund. The botulinum toxin will not cause a bad smell and you can’t taste it or see it, but if eaten, just a small amount of the toxin can cause nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, blurred or double vision, dry mouth, respiratory failure and paralysis. The recall was triggered by CFIA inspections and no illnesses have been reported from this recall.
