Students at the West Parry Sound Canadore College campus will graduate today. Guest speaker Barbara O’Brien, professor of the Personal Support Worker program, will be speaking to Canadore College graduates this morning at the college at 11:00am. O’Brien began her career as a candy striper at Mount Nemo Nursing Home in 1972 and after serving in nursing field for many years, O’Brien and her husband moved to Parry Sound in 2007 where she happily accepted employment at Lakeland Long Term Care and Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged. Canadore College President George Burton says Barbara has prepared today’s graduates to be highly-competent health care professionals in a demanding field. Each year, the College graduates approximately 1,000 students who join a network of 41,000 alumni across the global.
