MacTier community rallying against CP’s recent construction

A rally has been called in MacTier to urge Canadian Pacific to inform the community of project developments.  CP is currently working on an underpass just north of their MacTier yard and had planned to put up a fence to deter foot traffic over an illegal crossing of the main yard.  Community representatives say late last week, a 3-foot gravel wall was built, which completely obstructs the view of the waterfront which is a major tourist attraction for the community.  Area Councillor from the Township of Georgian Bay Louise Rivett, Chair of The MacTier Community Development Committee Dawn MacDonald, and In-coming Chair of the MacTier Community Development Committee Steven Schell have organized a rally this Saturday at the Caboose Park at 10:00am.  Provincial candidate for office, Norm Miller, MP Tony Clement, Mayor of the Township of Georgian Bay Larry Braid, and District of Muskoka Chair John Klinck have all been invited.
