Gloria was a Registered Nurse, completing her training at the Ottawa Civic Hospital in 1956.  In her early career, she worked as an operating room nurse in Ottawa, Kingston, London and Vancouver.  After the family’s move to Parry Sound in 1969, Gloria worked for the Parry Sound District Children’s Aid Society for 30 years as a Social Worker. Adoption work was her particular passion. After her retirement she commuted to Hamilton, where she completed a Master of Theology degree at McMaster Divinity College.  In recent years, she ministered at Belvedere Heights as a lay chaplain.  Gloria loved to travel, and did short-term mission work with her husband Don in Bolivia on a number of occasions. She loved music and sang in choirs throughout her life.  Over many decades, she was a faithful supporter of Camp Kwasind, and through her efforts many children have been able to attend summer camp.
