Alert action by an OPP officer prevents a head-on crash on HWY 69

A close call for police has a trucker facing numerous driving charges.

A West Parry Sound OPP officer on patrol at around 10:30 pm on February 5^th had to get out of the way to avoid being hit head-on by a truck on Highway 69 in The Archipelago.

It was only the alert actions of the officer that prevented a crash.

Charged with careless driving and failing to file and surrender numerous logs and records is 55-year-old Brampton man.

He scheduled to appear in Parry Sound court on March 1^st.

The OPP is reminding drivers the importance of staying alert and avoiding distractions while driving.
