This week is Algonquin Week in Parry Sound. A Flag raising will be held at noon today at the Town Office where the Algonquin Regiment flag will be raised. The flag raising will be an opportunity for the Mayor and community to wish a farewell to Parry Sound High School students who will be leaving for Normandy and the 70th anniversary of D-Day and the battle of Normandy later in the week. The students will bring a flag with the names of the 40 Algonquins who were killed in Normandy.
