Steering clear of ice at dams and hydroelectric stations keeps Family Day weekend safe

Ontario Power Generation is cautioning that ice forming around dams and hydroelectric stations is hazardous.

Currents and changing water conditions at the sites make the ice thinner than anywhere else.

OPG President of Renewable Generation Mike Martelli says the Family Day weekend is a great time for winter activity but advises that keeping clear of dams and generating stations is the best way of keeping the weekend safe.
