As the GMHL heads into the final weekend of the regular season, the League handed out its awards this week.
The Almaguin Spartans picked up six nominations and saw hardware handed out to three of its players.
The Award for Best Defensive Forward went to Britton Whitehead while Matthew Labrosse won for Best Forward. Rounding out the award winners was Bryan Austin who won Best Defenseman.
Heading into the final weekend of the season the Almaguin Spartans have now officially laid claim to the Northern Division regular season title courtesy of a Ville Marie loss Thursday night.
Almaguin has just a single game left, Saturday night in Temiscaming.
The final weekend sees the Seguin Huskies wrapping up the season with a pair of home games coming off a 5-3 win on the road in Meaford.
Saturday night they will host the Bradford Rattlers and Sunday afternoon New Tecumseth will be in Humphrey.
