Parry Sound Harvest Share Food Bank is in urgent need of donations

Parry Sound’s Harvest Share is asking for your help.

The food bank is in urgent need of donations as demand is increasing and supplies are running low.

Executive Director Wendy Pegahmagabow says while all donations are greatly appreciated there is an immediate need for non-perishable food items.

Pegahmagabow says the number of people using the food bank has increased from 900 a month last year to 1,200 a month this year.

She says much of the increase can be attributed to the growing number of working poor in the community.

Donations can be dropped off 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the Parry Sound Harvest Food Bank at 22a Miller Street.
