Poetry and prose at The March Hare in Parry Sound

It started off as a small literary event at a golf and country club in Newfoundland.

Originally organized by Rex Brown and poet Al Pittman in 1988, the idea was to get rid of the winter blues with a traditional Newfoundland soup supper and concert.

It is now an international festival that not only features the works of local poets but some of the best writers and musicians from Canada and around the world.

The March Hare is set to debut in New York, with stops in Ontario before heading off to Halifax.

The event is described by Brown as a celebration of words and music, featuring poetry, prose, and storytelling.

The Hare makes its appearance in Parry Sound at the Stockey Centre on March 2nd.
