Human remains have been found on Christian Island. Anishnabek Police Service were called about the discovery in an area south of West Beach last Thursday afternoon and called the Southern Georgian Bay OPP to help with the investigation. A search of the area found remains and other items which were sent to the Office of the Chief Coroner in Toronto to determine their origin, identity and possible cause of death. This investigation has revealed that the remains were those of 57-year-old Penny Warne who was reported missing from her Wasaga Beach home on Feb 15, 2009. Investigators have ruled out foul play as a cause of death and have concluded their investigation of this incident.
