Police charge driver with pot possession during R.I.D.E. on Highway 400

Local police have charged a 22-year-old man from St. Catherine’s after they found marijuana at a R.I.D.E. check.  West Parry Sound OPP was conducting a R.I.D.E. on Highway 400 in McDougall Township on Tuesday when a car pulled up just after midnight smelling of marijuana.  The officer searched the vehicle and found over 30 grams of pot.  The two passengers of the car were released while the driver was charged with possession of marijuana, failure to provide vehicle permit and failure to provide an insurance card.  He’ll face those charges in a Parry Sound court on June 19th.
