Almaguin Highlands called just under 100 times this past long weekend

It was a busy Victoria Day long weekend for police in Almaguin Highlands OPP.  Officers responded to 92 calls in the Almaguin Highlands area between Friday and Monday including speeding, no drivers licence, failing to wear seat belts, distracted driving, and numerous other Highway Traffic Act charges.  Police also conducted 25 R.I.D.E. programs in the region and arrested three drivers for impaired driving while four drivers were given a 3-day licence suspension for a warn range on the roadside screening.  All three of the drivers who were charged with impaired driving were from out of town with one from Cambridge, another from Markham, and the third from Brampton.  Almaguin Highlands OPP would like to thank the majority of drivers who drove responsibly.
