MCDOUGALL COUNCIL IN FAVOUR OF CONSULTATIONS FOR A RECREATIONAL POOL COMPLEX

McDougall council is moving ahead with plans to participate in consultations for a recreational pool complex.

McDougall was one seven Parry Sound area municipalities approached by the Ad-Hoc Wellness and Pool Recreational Committee to put a question on their ballot in the upcoming election.

The question would ask voters if they wanted a member of council to sit on the committee.

Mayor Dale Robinson says council at its meeting Wednesday night, took a more direct approach.

Robinson says voters have enough on their plate already come election time.

The Ad-Hoc committee says the ballot question will help determine which municipalities are serious about their involvement with the pool complex and how much of the public really want it.

Municipal councils have until March 1st to add questions to their 2018 ballots.
