Community Remembrance Project showing D-Day documentary

The Parry Sound community is encouraged to come out and see an award winning documentary about D-Day.  Tonight at 7:00pm at the Museum on Tower Hill, “D-Day Remembered” will be shown which centers around the battle of D-Day and gives an informative overview of the conflict according to Parry Sound High School history teacher Richard Lund.  The film is hosted by the Community Remembrance Project which is a joint initiative between staff and students of Parry Sound High School and the West Parry Sound District Museum to recognizing the sacrifices of our veterans during our armed conflicts.  Admission is by donation but the public will have the opportunity to buy “victory bonds” similar to the type that were once issued to support the war effort with all the proceeds going to funding the project and the creation of the exhibit and to offset costs for the screening of the documentary.
