ONTARIO OFFERS REBATES TO HOMEOWNERS GOING GREEN

The Ontario government is offering cash-back to homeowners for energy-efficient renovations.

Called the Green Ontario fund, the government is offering up to $20,000 in rebates for projects they say will save families money as well as fight climate change.

A homeowner can receive as little as a $100 for just simply sealing air leaks around the house and up to $20,000 dollars for the full installation of a ground source heat pump.

Different from tradition heat pumps, ground source heat pumps use coils buried deep in the ground to heat in the winter and cool in the summer.

In a move to protect privacy, the government says no door to door agents will come calling without a client’s consent.
