A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the Parry Sound District. Environment Canada say conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain in Parry Sound, Rosseau, Killbear, Huntsville, Baysville, Port Carling and Port Severn. Meteorologists also say hail is possible and encourage residents to take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year so remember, when thunder roars, go indoors. Environment Canada meteorologists will give updates as they continue to track the weather system.
