Parry Sound’s new Cascade power generating station is now up and running although it hasn’t been officially deemed as operating.

Originally built in 1919, the new facility will supply electricity to about 3800 Parry Sound homes with green power. That’s half of the entire community.
Key to the design of the plant was input by the community through the aesthetics advisory committee.
The grand opening and public tours are slated for next year.
