Parry Sound housing market still hot heading into the winter season

The temperature may be cooling off in Parry Sound, but the housing market isn’t.

President of the Parry Sound and Area Association of Realtors John Campbell says 2017 will likely be a record year for property sales in the district. He says the demand for properties is still high, which is pushing prices up.

The number of homes sold in September didn’t hit a record high, but the 69 sales were only two below the record set in 2015. However, the average price of homes in September did set a record at $430,178 which is over 31 per cent higher than last year.

In total, 567 residential properties were sold in Parry Sound this year. Campbell says this is also a record high for the area.
