Canadian indie film ‘Riot Girls’ starts filming in Parry Sound

A Canadian movie is being shot in Parry Sound this week.

On Wednesday, film crews will be on site at James Street and Miller Street in downtown Parry Sound. James Street will be closed from Trestle Bridge to Mary Street between 5:30 am and 9am. Miller Street will be closed from the Curling Club to Mary Street from 9am to 11am.

Community Recreation and Programs Coordinator Brad Weiler says the Canadian Independent film is called ‘Riot Girls’, but he says no other details on the project have been given.

Officials working on the film are also looking to hire some local help to help direct traffic and secure the sets during filming. If you’re interested in getting involved you can email Wendy Morrow at [email protected].
