The Town of Parry Sound’s budget will be discussed tonight. The 2014 budget was approved in principal in a special council meeting back in March as there were a couple of levies that still had not come in. A by-law to formally adopt the 2014 budget and the tax rate will be debated at tonight’s meeting. Also on the agenda is a resolution to accept a number of committee and board resignations and also to approve new members to some of those vacant positions. Also on the agenda is a resolution to support, in principle, Sail Parry Sound’s phase two that they presented to council last month and a resolution to use $135,000 from the Tax Rate Stabilization Fund to fix the retaining wall located between the fitness trail and Bay Street because of significant deterioration. The meeting gets started at 7:00pm in the council chambers of the town office.
